On Friday 3rd October 2025, CNYC FIKO, in collaboration with the EMAPURE FIKO team, carried out a major field sensitization campaign targeting secondary school students from NABICCOL COLLEGE, SHALOM COLLEGE, and SENSE MAN COLLEGE. The initiative was held under the theme "Youth for Peace, Stability and National Unity" and supervised by DAJEC FIKO Mrs. Mbwezele.

The campaign falls in line with the PRONEC-RARMORCE program and builds on the National President of the CNYC, Madame FADIMATOU Iyawa’s May 2024 campaign to fight against xenophobia, hate speech, and to promote living together across Cameroon.

This sensitization also connects to the WYLEF FOR PEACE PROGRAM held on Tuesday, 23 September 2025, organized by the Cameroon National Youth Council (CNYC) in collaboration with the YUMEN organization, in partnership with the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC), under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education (MINJEC). That program was aimed at empowering young people and women across Africa and the Arab world to become champions of peace and development. The October campaign in FIKO thus represents a concrete local follow-up to the continental commitment showcased during WYLEF4PEACE.

The activity in FIKO was led by President NDILE THOMAS alongside his executive team — Mr. Mfon Leslie, Mr. Sapou Roland, Mr. Forzeh Bernard, and Miss Ngwana Carine. On the EMAPURE FIKO side, the delegation included Mr. Hilary, Mr. Mebune Ernest, Mr. Nguibus Paul, and Miss Forzeh Jermima. In total, over 500 students were sensitized on the importance of peace and unity.

As part of the broader national youth agenda, the initiative also reflects one of the key resolutions adopted during the Cameroonian Youth Dialogue Platform (January 2025), which called on young people to "actively reject divisive ideologies and commit to building inclusive communities based on mutual respect and national cohesion."

In addition, students were also sensitized on the dangers of drug use, the risks of misinformation, and the importance of education as a tool for empowerment. The sessions emphasized how staying away from drugs enhances academic performance, how critical thinking and fact-checking protect young people from the harms of false information, and how education remains the strongest pathway to responsible citizenship, employability, and leadership.

By linking local sensitization efforts in FIKO with continental initiatives like WYLEF and national programs such as PRONEC-RARMORCE, CNYC FIKO and EMAPURE FIKO reaffirm their commitment to shaping a generation of youth that values peace, stability, unity, and development, not only for Cameroon but also for Africa and the Arab world at large.
