The Cameroon National Youth Council (CNYC) took part in the 6th ordinary session of the Steering Committee (COPIL) of the Projet de Développement des Chaînes de Valeur de l’Élevage et de la Pisciculture (PDCVEP), held on 20 January 2026 in Yaoundé. The session was chaired by Dr. Taïga, Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (**Ministère de l’Élevage, des Pêches et des Industries Animales – MINEPIA).
This important meeting focused on evaluating progress and planning future actions aimed at strengthening livestock and aquaculture value chains in Cameroon. Discussions emphasized improving productivity, supporting local producers, and enhancing the contribution of these sectors to national food security and economic growth.
Representing the Cameroon National Youth Council, its President, Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou, actively participated in the proceedings. Her contribution reaffirmed the Council’s strong commitment to youth empowerment, particularly in promoting young agripreneurs as key actors in agricultural transformation and sustainable development.
Through its participation, the CNYC highlighted the importance of integrating youth more effectively into livestock and aquaculture value chains, providing them with opportunities for training, entrepreneurship, and access to productive resources.
The Council commends the progress achieved under the PDCVEP and reiterates its commitment to working alongside public authorities and partners to ensure that young people remain at the forefront of Cameroon’s sustainable development efforts.
